My main areas in photography are portrait/lifestyle and fashion. After reflecting on my creative career path this year my work has had much more of a heavy influence from the sea and coast, as I’m hoping to stay down in the South-West for my photography career aspirations. I’ve always had a soft-spot for portraiture as I feel like you can truly capture a person’s aura in one photograph, and to me that has always been fascinating. Now with my photography being based around Cornwall, I’ve been able to capture the peacefulness and serenity of the seaside with the portraits I create.

As well as portraiture, I’ve also been branching out more into surf photography. With my Final Major Project, I was really able to branch out and experiment with my photography given the freedom of the module. This leap into a new photography has greatly benefited me and helped to further refine my photographic skills and techniques. For my Final Major Project I decided to create a magazine that was almost a sort of safe haven for women in the surfing community. One of my main inspirations for this magazine was SurfGirl. With my career goals planned out I thought that this would be the best way to create a strong body of work that will do me well when applying for jobs in the South-West but also I was able to highlight the issues of gender inequality within sports.
